At the Networking Group, at the EE department of University of Rome, Tor Vergata, we are looking for brilliant post-doctoral researchers to join our team, as part of our H2020 – EU – newly funded projects

Both PhDs and postdocs will work in one of the projects listed below, most of which are coordinated by faculties of the Networking Group (Giuseppe Bianchi and Nicola Blefari Melazzi):

BONVOYAGE, on Information-Centric Networking applied to Intelligent Transport Systems (Transport Challenge ‘Smart, green and integrated transport’, Call Mobility for Growth MG.7.2-2014. Towards seamless mobility addressing fragmentation in ITS deployment in Europe).
- SUPERFLUIDITY, on 5G Cloud Networking and network function virtualization (Call Information and Communication Technologies, Topic: Advanced 5G Network Infrastructure for the Future Internet).
- BEBA, on Data Plane programmability beyond OpenFlow switches (Call Information and Communication Technologies, Topic: Future Internet).
- SCISSOR, on security in SCADA systems (Call Information and Communication Technologies, Topic: ICT security).
- RECRED, on identity management and attribute-based access control (Call Digital Security: Cybersecurity, Privacy and Trust, Topic: Access Control).
Post-docs positions are available starting from September 2015, for one year, and possibility of further extension for another 2 years after that period. Starting salary is expected in the range €25K-€55K per year and depends on qualification and experience.
PhD positions at our group are available starting November 2015 and conditional on passing an admission exam (also envisaging positions restricted to students from abroad, see
http://dottorati.uniroma2.it/). Deadline for enrolling to the admission exam is June, 3 2015; the date of the admission exam is July 9, 2015. Starting salary is 16443€ (tax exempt, standard government scholarship) with exact salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
Successful candidates are required to relocate to Rome. The group operates based on flexible working hours.
The requirements for post-doc positions are: i) PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field; ii) Strong software design/implementation and prototyping skills; iii) Background and/or hands-on experience in any of the following areas: Information-Centric Networks, Software-Defined Networks, Traffic engineering, applied cryptography (with specific reference to Identity-based and attribute-based encryption), network security); iv) Strong publication record.
